COMETO STRE and STR Traverse Units

The COMETO STRE electronic traverse system is designed and engineered to improve the winding of metal wire, cables and plastic profiles and is primarily used on wire drawing or rewinding lines.

The STRE traverse system allows for the programming of winding onto reels of any shape. Positive no slip action due to toothed belt and no reverse springs to let you down.

Available in three different sizes: 

• STRE-10 suitable for winding delicate or precious metal wires
• STRE-25 suitable for winding wires, cables and profiles from 1-3mm diameter
• STRE-40 suitable for winding larger wires, cables and profiles with a traverse of up to 1.5m, speeds of 500mm/sec and an axial thrust of 400N

Reliable and ruggedly built to last in an industrial environment, maintenance requirements are negligible.

The COMETO STR mechanical traverse unit can be used on both new and existing winding machines. Equipped with pneumatic reversal, it features a carriage that slides on hardened and ground bars via a toothed belt. It is reliable, maintenance free and offers excellent wire layering. Built to operate in harsh industrial environments, a rugged and positive improvement over rolling ring traverse types.

The STR comes in two different sizes: 

• STR28 with 30mm diameter hardened bar 35kg side force
• STR40 with 40mm diameter hardened bar 70kg side force

Available with mechanical variator which allows adjustment of traverse pitch according to process requirements.
